I’ve come to believe we have built our organizations like that manicured garden — controlled, curated, clipped into predictability. We manage for order, not for life. We reward what fits the plan and cut back what doesn’t. And in doing so, we’ve unintentionally cut off the possibility of something greater: a truly living system that can adapt, innovate, and endure.
